One more leg to go...

Not too much more to update so I'll just be a bit random. We have landed in Johannesburg and all are running on adrenaline. Some have slept, some haven't at all... but spirits are high. As I look around a few are sleeping on benches and floors while others are checking out the shops. Things have changed a bit here at JNB, Darin's favorite food court is gone. Things have continued to move quite smoothly and we are praying that all of our baggage makes it through. We will be boarding in about 45 minutes, only 3 more hours and we'll be getting some Dieter hugs. :)

Hi All,

4 Tips for a Jet-Lag Lift

If you are planning to travel outside your time zone, or traveling more than an hour or two in your car, you may want to add these smart tips to help your body stay 'in the flow' and adjust to the new locale. Here are our top tips to keep your travels smooth - and we've suggested 3 easy postures to do while on the road or in the air.

1. Get out into the direct sun at high noon for 10 minutes for the first several days of your trip, to help reset your body clock. Wear sun block as appropriate.

2. On your first day in a new time zone, work to establish the same sleeping pattern as the locals. Try to get to sleep at a reasonable hour in the evening, and wake up about 8 hours later. Sometimes we are so tired when arriving into a new city that we end up falling asleep at our usual local time, but this only compounds the challenges our bodies have of adjusting.

3. Drink lots and lots of water, especially when flying. Dehydration can actually worsen jet lag. Use the extra trips to the restroom as exercise and an opportunity to get circulation going in your body. (Try standing on your toes - heel lifts - while waiting for the restroom.)

4. Take time while sitting through flights longer than two hours to engage your body in some form of movement, such as
a. Shoulder shrugs & head turns Watch Tutorial
b. Seated spinal flex - learn from our tutorial and simple adjust them for your seat on the plane Watch Tutorial
c. Squeeze & Release exercises throughout your body. For example, just squeeze the muscles of your legs for 3 seconds, then release. Follow with the muscles of the buttocks, the torso and even your face muscles.

Steph!
I think I say for the entire BAE company that we miss you. (even brian, even though I havent seen or talked to him) Even Judy... thats true love. Steve even said he hoped you have fun. You have a whole support system and you didnt even know it. We're showing our love through a collection of purple bottles stacked on your desk :) Moody just looked at me, and even though she didnt say anything, I know her eyes are screaming "I miss Steph sooooo much!" haha I hope you make it to your destination safe and sound and I will write more comments to entertain you (and no one else will understand) later. I can't wait until I'm in florida and I'm super bored, I'm going to write 10 pages worth of comments. Much love, Kels
PS-say hi to your mom for me! (this is her shout out)

PPS- Ryan stole your silly putty so he could have twice as much to play with. What would you like me to do?

John,
Thinking of you and the "love clan" God has given your uncle to share your lives in this manner. Be loving and there'll be no fear. Can't outgive God so just let it all hang out (Biblically speaking).
Freedom will take on new significance this July 4th.
Warm regards,
BB

Dear Team Namibia - we are back in the "same day" time for now - happy Thursday. Thought my Klove (Christian radio on-line) Word this morning was appropriate:
"For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love."
~ Galatians 5:13, NLT
And as our country celebrates tomorrow the freedoms we have here, God's freedom blesses you all with the chance to serve one another in love. I may not know you all....but I sure do love you! In His Love and by His Grace, grammy duncan

Hi Doll,
it's 8pm your time... no update yet, but I'm sure you are all busy trying to get settled in, etc. I'm leaving to get your brother from his last day of camp in a few, then off to VT. I am missing you like crazy. Nothing new to report here, although I am sure you have seen an awful lot, just in the past 24 hours. can't wait to hear about it and see your pictures. Make sure you thank Dieter for his hospitality. I will check the blog once more tonight from Kathleen's. I am stopping in at Crotched Mountain on the way to VT, so I'll give you an update on the kids. Meghan told me today that Steph has been asking for you. cute!
Love you, MEAN IT! xoxo Mom

Hi guys! I love the pictures! Especially the ones of Katie, Steph, and Court dancing in the airport! And the one of Darin falling asleep next to Ginger! They are great!

Just got home from Boston and wanted to let the MHDC dancers know that "Spring Joy" did awesome today! Some solos are going tomorrow, so I have to find my way back. This is the first time I got lost on the way there instead of on the way home!

If you guys go to Nau-Aib if you could ask about a little girl named Celia or Cecelia, that would be great.

Miss you Katie and Darin!

Lots of love,
Mom (Shari)

Yes, the pictures are awesome, and the updates - thank you SO MUCH for keeping us at home informed!! Hopefully your day is getting ready to wind down (if my brain is halfway functioning I THINK you are 5 hours ahead of us :) Here we are just getting some dinner on the table (yes Courtney, I COOKED!!). Alicia came over to spend the day with Brooke and I got to spend a little time with Sharon - she sends her love and wants you and Jill to get together (and wants you to drag her along to some conventions :) No summer dance is AMAZING!!! Noah is still slumbering after 3.5 hours but I think I might wake him up to eat!! Kaylie and Brooke send their love and miss you. Hugs and prayers continue your way... Hope your day was blessed and that everyone is carrying on with God's strength and you all get peaceful slumber this evening. Love you!

Kerry and Bonnie,
Hope you are fast asleep by now as it is 7:30 pm here (12:30 am there)
Walked down Boylston Street to watch Spring Joy which went well. I hear the younger group did very well. All the big gun Canadian studios are there and according to Denise Boisvert, there are 2 studios from South Africa who do their regionals in Florida. Talk about competition fees!
I think you guys are dancing tomorrow? Good luck and pace youselves.
Happy 4th of July to all.
Love
Mom
